My alarm goes off at 6.45am, and it's the start of a new day. I give myself less than half an hour to get ready, eat my breakfast and feed the cat. As I venture out into the lifting gloom, almost all the snow on the ground has melted away after the recent cold spell, but there's a distinct chill in the air. Thankfully, I can rely on my boyfriend to drive the 20 minutes that it usually takes him to bring me to Bower Roebuck, where I start work at 7.30am.rnSituated in the village of New Mill near Holmfirth, close to Huddersfield, Bower Roebuck is a well-established business with a reputation for producing some of the most exceptional fancy worsted cloth in the world. But don't take my word for it. Some of our clients have included Hollywood greats like Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise, and Daniel Craig, the current James Bond. To be honest, I didn't even know Bower Roebuck existed until June 2006 when I gave up my beauty job and university education in Poland to start a new life in this country. What motivated me to leave my home near Szczecin, close to the German border, I will never know. I just knew it was a risk that I was prepared to take, so I moved to the UK to live with my cousin.
