Fine and superfine production falls

Fine and superfine production during July was lower than in the same month for 2008 and 2009, with the total volume tested under 19.5 microns 7,024 tonnes greasy. Ultrafine production (15.5 microns and finer) was 70% lower and superfine production (15.6 -18.5 microns) was 24% lower. Sales of superfine Merino fleece styles 1 -5 under 18.5 microns were 27% higher than 2009 but there was one more sale week.
