Ermenegildo Zegna and the Australian Superfine Wool Growers Association (ASWGA) celebrated 50 years of consecutive Zegna fleece competitions in Australia with style. The Wool Trophy, Vellus Aureum Award presentation and ASWGA seminar were jointly held overlooking the famous Manly Beach in Sydney's north, a splendid setting to celebrate 50 years of collaboration. The first fleece competition held in Tasmania in 1963 was the brainchild of Aldo Zegna, who found fertile ground for his collaborative approach amongst the Australian superfine Saxon woolgrowers. The relationship grew over the years with a National Fleece Competition starting in the 1970s.
