"Burlington Arcade by the Royal Academy is my portal into my working neighborhood, Savile Row. My working days in London are precious and I spring off the 19 bus from Chelsea to swing by the Piccadilly Arcade. This is the bastion of high quality menswear shops. I love the bustle and elegance of the Jermyn Street area, where adherence to excellence is the mantra. I drop in at the iconic shirt maker, Budd, who stock my silk ties. Designing the Budd collection involves a day every season at Vanners, a 250 year old silk weaving mill, where I also create my own range of exclusive Tina Loder silk ties. If it's still early, I might stop at Cecconi's for coffee with a client or visit a cloth merchant such as W. Bill in their tweed cave in Sackville Street, round the corner. Everything I need is no more than a stone's throw from Savile Row. By 10am I am in the beautiful airy showroom of Holland & Sherry waiting to meet my first client of the day.
