Clearing up confusion about organic cotton

The organic cotton market is booming. Demand has steadily increased over the last four years and the largest volume of organic cotton fibre was harvested globally in the 2019/20 season, according to the Textile Exchange’s Organic Cotton Market Report 2021. During this time, there was an estimated 48% growth in fibre production, with 249,153 tonnes of fibre produced, and 50,552 ha of land converted to produce organic cotton instead of conventional cotton.
