Francis O. Patthey

Francis O. Patthey left his native Switzerland for Bradford at the age of 22, and embarked on a journey that would cross the world many times. After completing his language studies in Bradford Francis successfully applied for a job advertised in the Economist for a British railway company to work as an accountant in its South American concession ‘The Peruvian Corporation’. Little did he know what accepting that job meant for his future, and how often he would visit Bradford again. Francis was sent to Arequipa in Peru, and after a-yearand- a-half working on the railway concession he was hired by Deloitte in Lima as an auditor and was soon given the opportunity to open a permanent office for them in Arequipa. During this time his work introduced him to the wool and alpaca trade and in 1955 he joined the Arequipa branch of Kreglinger.
