During the week ending 15 January polyester staple fibre prices moved up further on support of rising upstream costs and demand from the downstream yarn market. In China, producers raised offers unchanged amid thin transactions, while most deals were discussed on an order-by-order basis. Although mills were buying regular volumes, they were still looking at fulfilling demand ahead of the Spring Festival in China.
