摘要

Textile and clothing manufacturers across the world have been badly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, and Bangladesh in particular has become one of the worst hit manufacturing nations. In an already volatile market, the country's apparel sector is in crisis.Speaking to Twist, Rubana Huq, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), says that the impact of Covid-19 "started its devastation by hitting the supply base for raw materials, as almost 50% of the raw materials imported to meet the needs of the textile and clothing industry is sourced from China."
