Launching TARDIGRADE, my 48', George Buehler- designed Diesel Duck trawler, was the culmination of a dream of the type that pulls on One's life strings but often results in decisions that defy logic. A few years ago, I read somewhere a comment that eloquently articulated a boat as "ta touchable dream." The notion of building a rugged little cruiser that might spirit me away to exotic places took hold of me in that way, and whether I ever cross oceans or not, it would make such voyages possible. For the 14 years I pursued that dream, I paid a price in almost every way imaginable.
