AWI CALLS NEW CERTIFICATION PROGRAM 'SEAL OF APPROVAL'

After nearly four years of development and fine-tuning, the Architectural woodwork Institute is in the process of implementing its Quality Certification Program (QCP). The voluntary program is designed to be an AWI "seal of approval" that will serve to assure a client that the firm proposing to do the work actually has the capacity to finish the job. After testing and review by QCP inspectors, qualified woodworking firms will be licensed to certify the quality of their work according to the current edition of the AWI Quality Standards. Firms are not required to be officially certified to bid on certified projects, although they must meet the AWI qualifications for certification if specified in a contract.
