One community the telecom world has always had difficulty serving is the hearing impaired. Obviously, the completely aural environment of the typical telephone is useless to deaf users. Attempts have been made to address this problem, but they've always left something to be desired. Now, however, technological advances are beginning to point to a future in which hearing impaired users not only have full access to the world, but will be able to take it wherever they go.
