With the varying range of organizations operating under Canadian Aviation Regulations Part VI, subpart 4 (CAR 604) through the CBAA Private Operator Certificate (POC) program, it is evident that an array of operational diversity will also exist. Operating an aircraft privately enables access to different destinations nationally as well as globally. However, with this diversity comes inherent risks of encountering unfamiliar or unknown characteristics. Climate, geography, and lack of exposure to specific traffic procedures at an unfamiliar airport are just some examples that can all contribute to the potential risks with an operation.
