WestJet has started reconfiguring its Boeing 737 fleet to add four rows of premiumeconomy seats to the front of the aircraft. The eight premium seats will offer extra legroom seating with 36 inches of pitch. The airline's premium economy product will also offer priority boarding and other onboard amenities.To accommodate the higher-fare seats, WestJet will reduce the pitch of the remaining seats to an industry competitive 31 to 32 inches. WestJet operates a mixed fleet of 99 Boeing 737 600s, 700s and 800s. The airline takes delivery of its 18th 737 800 in December, bringing the fleet to 100 aircraft.
