A Gulfstream Aerospace G650 flew between White Plains, New York and Mumbai, India in 13 hours and 49 minutes in March, setting the aircraft's 42nd speed record between city pairs. Powered by twin Ross Royce BR725 engines, the G650 entered service in December 2012. One month later, the airplane circled the globe westward in 41 hours and seven minutes, setting an early world record. The flight between Westchester City Airport in White Plains, and Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport carried four crew and two passengers, travelling at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.85 over the 13,177-kilometre flight. "The G650's ability to link these two key business destinations reinforces its utility as a vital tool for corporations," said Jason Akovenko, Gulf-stream's regional vice-president of sales for Asia-Pacific. "The aircraft has the ability to whisk customers to where they need to go."
