The Northern Lights Award Foundation (NLAF) has announced the recipients of the 2015 Elsie MacGill Northern Lights Awards. MacGill was the world's first female aircraft designer and an aviation pioneer, and was pivotal in the design and production of the Hawker Hurricane in Canada during the Second World War. The prestigious awards honour outstanding Canadian women who have made a significant contribution in their field and who continue to lay the groundwork for other women to enter or excel in aviation and aerospace.
