Platform sharing becoming norm

The industrialisation of component production is enjoying increasing popularity in the wind industry. As an overall strategy, this enables production of higher volumes of largely similar standardised components for different turbine models. This, in turn, speeds up time to market and contributes towards lower assembly and manufacturing costs through improved use of equipment for the supply chain. This strategy can be employed for both existing and new turbine models.
