CRC Press rightfully prides itself on a long history ofnpublishing important and outstanding reference texts inna variety of scientific fields, fulfilling its motto to providen‘‘essential information for the scientific and technicalncommunities.’’ International Poisonous PlantsnChecklist: An Evidence-Based Reference not onlynachieves this goal but does it brilliantly. Although reportsnof plant toxicities are frequent, they are sometimesnunreliable and difficult to access. Previously, comprehensivenreviews of plant toxicities were fragmented bynregionally parochial reports and further complicated bynthe variable use of common and botanical (scientific)nnames. In International Poisonous Plants Checklist,nWagstaff exhaustively compiles plant toxicities fromnaround the world in a unified fashion. Plants are listednalphabetically using standardized scientific nomenclature,ncross-referencing synonymous botanical and commonnnames. Each plant entry is followed by a short descriptionnof its associated toxicities supported by a listnof primary references.
