摘要

Shoulder dislocations are common in wilderness sports.nEarly reduction of the dislocated shoulder significantly re-nlieves the patient’s pain and increases the likelihood of ansafe evacuation from the wilderness environment. Our hy-npothesis is that reduction attempts on scene by nonmedicalnpersonnel are safe, effective, and can significantly reduce thentime to reduction.nThe objectives of this study were to define the success ratenand the complication rate for shoulder reduction attempts bynnonmedical personnel in the wilderness setting, and to comparenthe average time to reduction for those done on scene versusnthose that waited for reduction at a medical facility.
