The theft of manhole covers from highways and pedestrian walkways is becoming a worrying trend, says Clark-Drain.rnThe manhole covers are being sold for scrap and the firm says these incidents are happening more frequently as the price of metal soars.rnIts solution for loading applications up to 35kN is the CLKS 452 dual-locking polypropylene inspection cover and frame for 450mm chambers.rnThe demand for this product is already high, says the company, as more organisations look to replace cast-iron covers that are not compliant with Part H of the Building Regulations.rnBy using the CLKS 452 dual-locking cover and frame, local authorities can replace a steel cover with a lockable plastic version that offers the required performance in pedestrian areas, but is lockable and therefore not at risk from theft.
