ACWA's unit can remove ammonia

ACWA SERVICES is to design and build an Amtreat processing unit to remove ammonia from wastewater for the Southern Water Sludge Liquor Treatment Centre in Ashford, Kent. The contract is with Black & Veatch, the main contractor responsible for upgrading the site to full compliance with AMP4 requirements. The installation of Amtreat is for the treatment of sludge liquors, although ACWA said the process is also suitable for treating high-strength ammonia industrial wastewater.
