Pipe production on the run

Scottish Water and its rnconstruction partner Black & Veatch (B&V) are working with pipeline manufacturer KWH as preparations for laying the Glencorse pipeline get underway.rnFor the first time, a mobile pipeline production plant has been established at Seafield Mill on the outskirts of Edinburgh, reducing lorry journeys by about 70%. Several lengthy pipeline stretches have already been produced ready for the start of construction.rnThe pipeline plays a significant part in the green credentials of the new works, and willrndeliver clearer, fresher drinking water to around 450,000 customers throughout Edinburgh and Midlothian when complete in 2011.
