Yorkshire's beaches praised

YORKSHIRE'S BEACHES have been recognised by Keep Britain Tidy as some of the best in the UK. The anti-litter charity has announced that the county has 17 award-winning beaches, including five which hold a Blue Flag for water quality, cleanliness and safety. Several of the region's other beaches were also highly rated, with 15 of them receiving Quality Coast Awards (QCAs) which recognise beaches that achieve the highest standards of beach management. Included in the 15 are Bridlington North and South, Robin Hood's Bay, Sandsend and Runswick Bay in North Yorkshire.
