Plumbers and installers can help improve safety The UK water industry has a record to be proud of. Drinking water quality compliance, measured at customers' taps has consistently been above 99.9%. Water companies though are not responsible for the final link to the customer. There is increasing evidence that pipework inside the customer's property is leading to failures in drinking water quality and risks to consumers. Water firms are seeing a rise in cases of bad plumbing practice and non-compliance with the regulations.
