Pipes and water footprints

As The global population continues to grow and individuals increasingly use more and more water, the strain on water resources is becoming critical. Climate change will only add to the problem. And as water becomes an ever more precious resource, designers will increasingly be asked to specify products with low embodied water content. Contractor Balfour Beatty is working with its supply chain to identify where water is embodied in products and materials; other contractors, specifiers and clients will no doubt follow suit as interest in water footprinting continues to grow.
