Silent Valley Waste Services is a waste management company based in Ebbw Vale, South Wales, that specialises in non-hazardous waste disposal and civic amenity site management. The disposal operations are carried out at the company's landfill site which was permitted by the Environment Agency in 2005. An improvement condition within the permit required the installation of a groundwater pumping system to intercept and prevent contaminated water migrating downstream of the landfill footprint. Installation of the pumping system was completed in early 2007 with commissioning of 28 number pumping wells immediately adjacent to the downstream perimeter of the waste body.
