Scottish wateer has finally been able to is to invest in improvements to its services on the island of Tiree - after delaying work to help protect the local population of corncrakes. Contractor George Leslie, working for Scottish Water, is working on a £230,000 project to upgrade a total of 1.5 miles of mains in the Hynish area of the island. The improvements will provide greater security of supply to about 100 properties in the area, which has been affected by burst pipes and disruption to normal supply in the past. The improvements will also reduce leakage from our network.
