摘要

The adoption of Advanced Digestion by the UK water industry has been significant over the past ten years. This technology has allowed many water companies to move away from high cost and energy intensive sludge treatment processes such as thermal drying and potentially odourous processes such as lime disinfection and dewa-tering. In addition, Advanced Digestion has helped to maximise solids destruction, using either biological or thermal hydrolysis pre-treatment to produce typically 50% more biogas than conventional digestion.
