Severn Trent Picks Spirac Megawashers

Spirac has volunteered to release itself early from a framework with Severn Trent Water (STW) for screenings washer dewaterers. This is so that it can help STW increase flexibility into its screenings handling process and synchronise the renewal of the inlet works framework agreements. Spirac was awarded the current framework for screenings washer dewaterers with STW in January 2007. Following the success of the units supplied to Yorkshire Water, Spirac has supplied its first Miniwasher to STW for a 12-month trial at Bredon. Paul Fisher, one of STW's delivery managers, said: "One example of how Spirac and Severn Trent Water have worked closely together to solve a complicated application has been at Worcester Sewage Treatment Works." The population equivalent of the site is 120,113 and its scheduled capacity as of this September will be 27Ml per day.
