San Diego Launches 'City of Villages' Outreach Program To Accommodate Future Growth

San Diego growth projections call for more than 284,000 new residents by 2020, About 60 percent of this growth will come from natural population increases. Effectively dealing with traffic congestion; Making needed improvements to the existing transit system; Ensuring living wage jobs are available to maintain a healthy and diverse economy; and Developing financing for the estimated $2.5 billion shortfall in public facilities, including libraries, parks and recreation facilities.
