Brazing on pipelines requiring monitoring - Qualification of the brazer and brazing process in accordance with VdTUEV-Work Sheet 1160

The production of brazed joints on pipelines for combustible, corrosive and toxic media in the area covered by the Pressure-Vessel-Regulations requires - in accordance with the current Technical Rules for pipelines, TRR 100 - that the brazer and the brazing process employed be qualified. Testing and evaluation-basis for this is the VdTUEV-Work Sheet 1160, that in a revised edition has been extended to cover the corresponding joint-types on pipes. The new regulations are shown and commented on and experience gained in carrying out the examinations and evaluation of the specimens presented.
