The FSW Committee of the Light Metals Welded StructuresrnAssociation (Chair: Keizo Nanba, Sumitomo Light MetalrnIndustries) has recently turned its attention towardsrnfriction stir welding (FSW) joints and has continuedrnstudies of the methods employed by various companies,rnfocusing on the differences in the characteristics due tornthe differences in method and materials with the aim ofrnexamining the characteristics of joints of the aluminiumrnalloy base materials produced by these companies.
