IAB managing the international qualification system for welding personnel

During the last IIW Annual Assembly in Quebec, Canada, in August/September 2006, the EWF - European Welding Federation and the IIW - International Institute of Welding agreed on the terms of transfer of EWF companies certification system according to ISO 3834 and EWF personnel certification system to IIW. IIW decided that these certification activities will be developed by IAB - International Authorization Board, which is the body within IIW managing the international qualification system for welding personnel. The IIW certification activities will start in 2007 and will be taken over by IAB Group B.
