In mechanical engineering, great significance is attached to the subject of energy efficiency already solely as a result of the great cost factor. "Not due to the political pressure and the climatic objectives but instead because economical installations pay their way," Hans-Peter Kau, the Dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty at TU Munich/Germany, says on this subject.rnHoweveV, industry is also taking precisely the discussion about climatic change very seriously. From a niche position, an innovative coating centre is therefore developing efficient and environmentally friendly coatings. If they were utilised in the most diverse branches of industry as quickly and universally as possible, this could be an important contribution to performing a global task.
