WEC Apprentice moves closer to representing UK at WorldSkills, Kazan

WEC Group Training Academy apprentice, Tyler Atkinson has moved a step closer to representing the UK at WorldSkills Kazan 2019. The third year welding/fabrication apprentice won silver in last year's WorldSkills UK Construction Metalwork competition and has now reached Phase 4 of the selection process to join Squad UK and head over to Russia to compete. Having already been named as the WEC Group's Apprentice of the Year for 2016, Tyler will now undergo a rigorous technical skills training and assessment programme in order to secure his place on the world stage. He will attend 25 days of technical skills development and up to two preparation bootcamps, with the first taking place at Loughborough University in April. Tyler will receive coaching and productivity training to enhance his skills, both for the competition and in the workplace.
