摘要

High in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Southern Colorado, Bill Peffer switches ton his television to watch the evening newscast. Bill's wife, Elisabeth, is down-stairs using the Internet to research a new, car the couple would like to purchase. A few minutes later, an electronic alarm chimes at the completion of their microwave oven's cooking cycle. The couple meets in the dining room, flips on the lights, and enjoys their food. While this slice of the Peffers' life is as normal as any suburban mall run, the way the couple powers their lives is anything but: they produce their own electricity, from the sky.
