In what may be one of the rarest collections of weather observations on the planet, a single location in upstate New York has compiled a set of data encompassing every day for the last 114 years. For the last 114 years, an observer has recorded daily temperature readings and weather observations at a remote location on a resort and nature area some 90 miles north of New York City. The Mohonk Preserve weather station has never missed a day of temperature recording; has never been moved; has never seen its surroundings change; and has never been tended by anyone but a short, continuous line of family and friends. Recorders have used the same methods for 42,250-plus readings.
