When asked "Where is the deadliest tornado region in the United States?" many people naturally think of the Great Plains, stretching from Texas northward through the Dakotas.This is the "tornado alley" region that many school kids are taught about in grade school, and they carry this knowledge into adulthood. But there is another wicked spot known for its violent tornadoes and high tornado death counts: the so-called Dixie Alley, spanning portions of the mid-South, Gulf Coast, and Southeast.
