During October, periodic heavy rainfall soaked the Midwest and much of the East. The Eastern rain started early in the month, when the remnants of Hurricane Nate tracked from the central Gulf Coast into the Northeast. Later, back-to-back storms delivered heavy rain to the Northeast between October 23 and 30, eradicating drought concerns.
