With the red diesel tax changes finally bedding down, there is more fuel disruption on the way from new regulations pencilled in for 1st January 2011.rnFrom that date, all diesel sold for inland waterway use will be required to be of 'ultra low sulphur' standard. Fuel providers suggest that this is likely to be road diesel, which is already sulphur-free, dyed red - which means it will contain up to 7% biodiesel.rnAs with the recent tax increase, the change stems from a European Union directive, this time designed to ensure fuel is suitable for new, low-polluting engines.
