A River Stour lighter is to be restored as a result of a £1m Heritage Lottery Fund win. The boat will be used to run passenger services along the Stour. It is named John Constable after the artist who often painted the river, including 'Boat Building at Flatford' - showing a lighter under construction.rnBesides the restoration of the boat, the grant will pay for landscape art and research into historic houses. The three-year project, called 'Managing a Masterpiece', will involve volunteers, local communities and schools and is being led by the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Stour Valley Project.
