Walsh & Sons honoured with Bulkeley-Johnson Salt award

At the London Cavalcade over the May Day bank holiday, the IWA presented the Vivian Bulkeley-Johnson Salt award to S. Walsh & Sons Ltd. The award had not been made for three years, and is given on the recommendation of the IWA's Inland Waterways Freight Group. It rewards outstanding contributions to the promotion of commercial waterways transport in the United Kingdom. Walsh & Sons, which began in 1968 as an engineering plant business, has recently extended its use of water transport, and its barges currently service a wide range of sites, including Lot's Road, Crossrail's Canary Wharf Station, Blackfriars Station, Crossrail and Thames Water's tunnelling activities and land reclamation projects in Pitsea and Wallasea.
