The historic Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge, which carries the A56 road over the River Weaver near Frodsham, was reopened to all road traffic on 11th October after a £4.5m restoration. The 15-month project did not stop smaller boats from passing underneath, but access was prevented for larger commercial craft. The temporary Bailey bridge that carried traffic and blocked the navigation is now being dismantled and full passage will soon be available.
