Having cruised all the easily accessible mainline canals, we made the crossing to the Lancaster Canal this summer. We really enjoyed it and managed to get up to Tewitfield and then back to Lancaster just before the stoppage at Lune Aqueduct! We were then delayed from doing the return crossing to the Leeds & Liverpool Canal's Rufford Branch by very strong winds, and have thus discovered a new favourite mooring by default, and probably not one that one would normally choose to moor at... on a pontoon just above Lock 8 of the Ribble Link.
