Re-enacting Magna Carta

Details have been announced of the flotilla cruise celebrating the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, on 13th-14th June. The pageant will be rowed or paddled, in the manner of boats 800 years ago, although powered craft can join at certain points. The boats will carry a facsimile of the Magna Carta, created by local people for the Windsor & Royal Borough Museum. The event will enact the story of Magna Carta at various points on the journey as the document is handed over in a relay. At the final stage it will be handed to a bearer on board the Royal shallop Jubilant, escorted by rowed craft.
