It was good to read some additional material on the late, great David Hutchings in 'Unsung Heroine' (WW December 2014). Even if some of it was a little less than flattering to that incomparable canal restorer. As someone fortunate enough to have met David a few times in the 1970s and '80s, I can only reiterate what an inspirational, 'can do' figure he was. And everyone who worked with him on the Stratford Canal and Upper Avon restoration projects felt the same.
