50 YEARS OF THE RIVER STOUR TRUST

Suffolk's River Stour Trust has announced a programme of events for 2018 to mark its 50th anniversary. They will include a ceremony honouring last year's reopening of Stratford St Mary Lock, and its renaming as the Roger Brown Lock in honour of the trust member who led its ten-year restoration. A major trailboat festival is also planned, together with electric boat rallies. The trust also hopes to get a record entrance for its annual Sudbury to the Sea canoe rally, one of the UK's largest paddling events, which last year attracted over 500 entrants from around the world.
