"The saloon chairs are worthy of patenting - they are the best fixed furniture option I have seen on a boat." Thus wrote WW technical editor Mark Langley in his boat review of Nook and Kranny in our January issue. He was talking about the Oarsome Narrowboat Sofabed, an invention of the boat's owner-builder, Jamie Simmons. It consists of a pair of large, semi-circular sofas that rotate and pivot individually through 360 degrees. With each one being almost 5ft wide, they can accommodate four to six people, sitting side by side or angled in to, say, watch TV.
