The Dover Strait may be one of the busiest sea lanes in the world but what's the busiest inland waterway in England? While boating up the River Thames in London, I wondered if I'd inadvertently found it. Leviathan barges loaded with spoil from the new super-sewer being dug under the river ploughed up and down, pushed by tugs. High-speed ferries headed in every direction, distributing their considerable washes at all angles, while high-speed RIBs added further to the swirling, heaving melee.
