The Wool Boat, the floating narrowboat knitting specialist, ended its 2018 trading year in December with its largest-ever order, thanks to a promotional campaign to encourage Yorkshire car commuters to switch to public transport. Carole and Colin Wareing, who run the Wool Boat, said the order came from the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive. The organisation has launched a campaign to persuade car drivers to go by public transport, and wanted to hand out free knitting kits.
