Lichfield hanging gardens

The Lichfield & Hatherton Canal Trust is recreating the site of the city's historic Gallows Wharf as a garden. It will form part of the cathedral city's entry for Britain in Bloom.The Lichfield restoration has yet to reach this section, though it will be easy to continue work here when other parts of the waterway link up with it. In the meantime, the site, off the Tamworth Road, isbeing planted to resemble the original wharf for the national gardening competition in July.
